History

St. Gabriel’s Parish has served Grays Ferry since 1895 and will continue to do so for years to come...

But it’s not the parish that brings life to the people, it’s the people that bring life to the parish.

We come from humble beginnings, it was the parishioners who broke ground and built the foundation of St. Gabriel’s, which we continue to build upon.

Jesus is working in the lives of all people, at all times, but He takes special delight in those who have contributed so much to His house, physically, spiritually, and communally.

St. Gabriel’s survives and continues to illuminate Grays Ferry with Jesus’s healing light, because of the countless servers, volunteers, and life-givers who contribute to this parish.

We will continue to grow and adapt to our surroundings, but we will never lose sight of what gives us breath. That is: the individual personalities, spiritual gifts, talents, hard-work and dedication of those who call this community home.
