Choir |
The
Adult Choir takes part in Mass on Sunday and provides special Liturgical
Music for celebration of Christmas, Holy Week, Easter Confirmation and
other occasions. |

Education Committee |
Responsible
for planning adult education opportunities for parish life. |
|
Altar
Server |
Girls
and boys in grades five through high school serve at the altar during
Mass. |
|
Bible
Camp |
For
children aged three to five. Bible Camp is on-going during the school
year. Four teams of adults operate the Bible Camp on a rotating basis. |
|
Building
and Grounds Committee |
Responsible
for maintenance of building and grounds and planning future use and
growth. |
|
Cantors |
Lead
the parish assembly in singing the Liturgies at Mass. |
|
Children’s
Choir |
Children
in grades one through eight perform when needed, particularly at
Christmas, Easter and First Communion. |
|
Covenant
to Care |
An
Adopt a Social Worker program providing a structured link between the
parish community and those serving children with unmet needs. |
|
Family
Life Ministry |
A
group of dedicated married couples meeting various outreach needs to
parish families. They organize and run workshops for engaged couples,
help with the Baptism program and sponsor evenings of reflection for
married couples of all ages. |

Good
Shepherd Choir |
A
unique group of parishioners who sing at parish funerals. |
|
Health
Care Ministry |
Lay
Ministers, Religious and Eucharist Ministers, as well as men and women
called Friendly Visitors, who visit residents in extended care
facilities, hospitals and the sick and elderly at home. |
|
Lectors |
Women
and men who proclaim the scriptures at Mass. |
|
Legion
of Mary |
Members
visit nursing home residents and shut ins to recite the Rosary and
distribute Holy Communion on a weekly basis. They maintain the
parish’s literature rack. |
|
Liturgy
Committee |
Responsible
for providing leadership and planning of parish liturgy. |
|
Ministers
of the Eucharist |
Distribute
Holy Communion at Masses and assist with the Health Care Ministry. |
|
Parish
Council |
A
25-person group of elected and ex-officio members who act through
Standing Committees as the pastor’s advisory body. |
|
Parish
Video Library |
A
collection of videos on spirituality and prayer, including a
comprehensive Cartoon Bible Video Series, set up as a book library. May
be checked out through the Rectory. |
|
Rite
of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) |
Prepares
adults for entry into the Catholic Faith. Men and women dedicated to
executing the RCIA process. Includes sponsors, teachers and those who
share their faith stories. |
|
Religious
Education Program |
A
professional staff, including a director, coordinator and secretary,
oversees religious education of our children. Classes are conducted in
conjunction with a volunteer staff of teachers, librarians, teachers’
assistants and substitutes. All classes are held at Saint Gabriel’s
School and Parish Center. Sacramental programs include First
Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. |

Saint
Gabriel’s School and Parish Center |
Serving
kindergarten through grade eight, Saint Gabriel’s School prepares
students to excel in academic knowledge, good moral judgment and
spiritual values. |
|
Small
Christian Communities |
A
group of people who meet to enhance their faith through prayer,
Scripture reading and discussion of selected scriptures and how they can
apply these readings to everyday life. |
|
St.
Gabriel’s Youth Group |
A
program for teens in grades nine through twelve of social and
educational interest. |
|
Social
Ministry |
Responsible
for the Christmas giving tree, planning and serving meals at the
homeless shelter and the Covenant to Care Program. Also coordinates the
clothing and food drives for shelters and food banks. |
|
Ushers |
Prepare
the Church for Mass, taking up the collection and distributing
bulletins. |
